Joint Scientific Cooperation Between the College of Dentistry at the University of Basra and the College of Dentistry at Al-Maaqal University

In keeping with the principle of joint scientific cooperation among medical educational institutions, avenues of scientific collaboration between the Colleges of Dentistry at the University of Basra and Al-Maaqal University (private) were discussed. This came during a visit by the Dean of the College of Dentistry at the University of Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Fateh Abdel-Sahib Al-Khaqani, to Al-Maaqal University, where he was received by the Legal Counsel of Al-Maaqal University, Professor Marwan Mansour Al-Sukaini. During the meeting, numerous ideas in this field were put forward, and it was agreed to form a joint scientific committee between the two colleges to explore the future and immediate prospects of this cooperation. Al-Khaqani expressed his admiration for the very modern, high-technology, and advanced equipment available in the dentistry laboratories at Al-Maaqal University. Al-Khaqani added that the start of classes at this stage represents a challenge that falls on the shoulders of everyone—administrators, faculty, and students—and that, placing our trust in God, we begin the academic year with the diligence of our instructors and the determination of our students to prove that education will not stop. During his visit to Al-Maaqal University, Al-Khaqani also toured the lecture halls and laboratories at the university.
